Amman, 4 December 2017 – From 23 November to 2 December 2017, UNESCO Amman Office participated in this year’s edition of the European Film Festival in Amman, taking place at the Haya Cultural Centre.
As part of UNESCO’s Support to Media in Jordan project, which is funded by the European Union, seven illustrated posters related to themes of media freedom, independence and professionalism were displayed in the main theatre hall. Posters aimed to creatively display the importance of concepts related to media freedom and pluralism, the importance of local and community radios, media and information literacy and media independence.

In addition, UNESCO gave a presentation and screened two short videos about the project on Friday Dec 1 at 6:45pm, ahead of the first film screening of the evening.
Since 2014, UNESCO Amman Office has been implementing the “Support to Media in Jordan”, in close collaboration with the Ministry of State for Media Affairs and the media community in Jordan.
